Answer first

The current answer

The adventure follows two playable leads: a black-and-white royal palace cat and an orange stray. Their different backgrounds shape their personalities and perspectives, while both are needed for the shared journey home.

The royal palace cat

The black-and-white cat begins with a peaceful life in the palace before a disastrous event changes everything. The official site describes Royal as born into privilege but choosing adventure, and uses “finesse” to contrast this cat with the stray.

The public material does not publish a personal name, stat sheet, or fixed skill list. Puzzle footage may show different positions and tasks, but it is too early to label an exclusive Royal ability unless the game does so directly.

The clever stray

The orange stray is introduced while protecting food from threatening forest creatures. The official character line emphasizes grit and survival instinct, setting up a different view of the medieval world from the palace-raised companion.

Like Royal, Stray does not yet have a published personal name or complete move set. The visual distinction is clear: orange fur and a dark neck ruff for Stray, with black-and-white fur and a blue collar for Royal.

How the pair works together

  • Both perspectives remain visible in split-screen scenes.
  • Co-op footage includes coordinated pushing, traversal, puzzles, and environmental interactions.
  • The story connects two very different starting lives through one route home.
  • Character customization is a Steam user tag, but no customization system has been formally detailed.
